Description

Education Systems is looking to hire an experienced Software Architect to join the team. We are looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who will be responsible for designing and leading development of our latest Analytics & Data Mart SAAS application. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in object-oriented programming, RDMBS knowledge, Data Analytics experience and preferably experience in the Higher Education industry. Candidates should be excellent team players, capable of leading development teams, and able to work with distributed teams.

Basic Functions & Responsibilities Summarized

  • Researches, designs, and writes software to specifications, either individually or leading a team of other developers
  • Point of contact with OFFSHORE development team; Works closely with Director of Development to plan ongoing feature development, product maintenance, and management of development teams
  • Works with product manager and Business Analysts to determine software design (including database design & business logic implementation), requirements and system impacts
  • Generates technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests
  • Assists with application maintenance by monitoring and correcting software defects
  • Architects the application to best fit the complex business logic and workflow functionality needed
  • Has a solid understanding of new technologies and techniques and researches ongoing industry developments
  • Mentors junior developers in industry best practices, procedures, and concepts
  • Interpret business requirements into detailed technical specifications
  • Lead & make continuous progress on the product design & development effort
  • Complete product database and application design
  • Architect integration with existing products

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in designing end to end software architecture for a data mart & analytics application
  • Experience in business logic for predictive modeling & analytics
  • Extremely strong analytics & database skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Master's preferred) or equivalent professional experience
  • 4+ years .NET or Java experience, or 8+ years object-oriented programming experience
  • Experience with web applications
  • 8+ years experience in the complete software development lifecycle
  • 8+ years experience with SQL Server or any other RDBMS
  • 3+ years experience in .NET or ASP.NET, or 10+ years of enterprise development experience
  • 8+ years experience in source control, unit testing, code verification, documentation, automated build, continuous integration, metrics, and code reviews
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
